Tom's of Maine, "50 States for Good" Initiative Offers Program Funding for Nonprofits
With a total community action fund of $100,000, Tom's of Maine's "50 States for Good" initiative is celebrating
and rewarding nonprofits from across the country whose efforts are focused on lasting, positive change in the community.
Tom's of Maine is hoping to inspire participation from nonprofits of all sizes and is excited to hear about the community
projects that matter most to them. This year, applicant organizations are encouraged to be bold in sharing how they can best
use new volunteers to benefit the community. After finalists are selected, online voting by the public will determine which
five organizations will receive $20,000 each.
Retirement Research Foundation Accepting Applications for General Grants Program

The foundation is devoted solely to serving the needs of older persons in the United States. Through its General Grants Program, RRF
supports direct service, advocacy, education, and training programs for professionals working directly with elders as well as
research to improve quality of life and independence for vulnerable older adults. Of special interest are proposals that address
mental health, care coordination, person-centered long-term services, economic security, and affordable housing with supportive services.
Bikes Belong Offers Funding for Advocacy and Facilities Programs
Bikes Belong, a national coalition of bicycle suppliers and retailers, provides grants to organizations and agencies within the United States
that are committed to putting more people on bicycles more often.
For the facilities category, Bikes Belong will accept applications from nonprofit organizations whose missions are bicycle and/or trail specific.
Bikes Belong will also accept applications from public agencies and departments at the national, state, regional, and local levels. Applicants can
request up to $10,000 each.
Upcoming application deadlines are August 27, 2010, and November 30, 2010.
